My totaled cadillac

A couple of days ago I was driving to a home depot for some drywall (gypsum) for my mush. cult. project :syringe: and had two grams dry in the car for someone else I'd meet there.
The light turned green and I accelerated to about 8 miles an hour before the front left part of my 1992 cadillac Sedan Deville was smashed into a mother-fuckin million pieces by a guy in an '06 mustang coming from the left. :eek:
I dropped my girl off with la marcancia :mushroom2: in her purse in a plastic bag and drove back to the scene. A pig got there two minutes later. The Mofo must have been reading while exercising in his car or something because he easily ran that light by two seconds. I hit my brakes probably saving me from being killed by a 40 mph one ton plus impact to my cab. :mad2:
He admitted fault to fucking up and his insurance offered me 2150 for my car or around there. They say that the damage was about 3900 dollars.

Should I keep my smashed up car that gets 18 mpg and only get payed about 1900 dollars? Can I sell off the parts or car to a salvage yard and make more than the 250 dollar difference they'd pay me if they got to keep the car? They're basically going to keep the car and pay me a sum for the salvage fee and license and title shit if they keep it. It's my decision.

the car has a 5 month old set of new kumho tires and a non detachable cd player thing worth 189.

Should I keep my baby or sell her dead body off for the 275?

You have a 4.9 engine in that...they are not terrible engines, but if something goes wrong, it gets costly quick...christ they have been done with them for over 12 years i think.  I have an 86 sedan deville now with a 4.1, it's a good car, but it is for sale...has low miles, but I dont drive because I dont want problems...got it from my aunt when she stopped driving.  I manage a GM service dept and when we see caddys from those years, we cringe...these were the early aluminum engine blocks, they had some flaws...depending on what condition body is in you could keep/fix it ONLY if you are handy and can get the parts from a u pull salvage yard, otherwise will cost a fortune.

If this is not an option...take the $$ and RUN!

damage was 3900 and they only covered 2100? if it was the other guys fault why is it not 100% ? sounds like you got screwed somewhere.

In the days now of 40,000.00 cars and such, they dont care...yours was just another case and they offerd that to you to shut you up.  Insurance is a scam, but you'd be wishing for it if you dont have it and need it.

Yes I did get ripped, and Usaa, My insurance only offered me 1200, I was so confused and pissed that I wondered how it was legal for someone to call reimbursement of only half my car's worth Full coverage! I'm just glad I didn't break my neck or get paralyzed! They might have offered me about 50 dollars...

cmon, you know if that car was in perfect shape, you wouldnt be driving it...was there any rust/dents/ etc?

that car was in very nice shape on the outside with no visible dents and the only blemish being a cracked bumper and the seats of leather had slight cracking. I feel like I'm being prison fucked here but don't know what to do. I need good advise. Everyone says it's a good deal because you can get a cadillac at the auctions here for 500 but I've never been to one and never thought a 92 cadillac would be worth less than the 2400 I paid for the mofo.

See my first post, ONLY IF you are goood with mechanics and  ONLY IF you can get parts from a cheaper pick-n-pull type place should you keep the car.  If both those criteria are not met, I would suggest ditching it and moving on, sorry bra.  I love mine too.
