I still cant use vista because Vista refuses to allow my video card to use my devices proper resolution.

Havn't tried in quite a while might be fixed but I think its intentianally criplled because both my displays use VGA instead of DVI or HDMI.

I should probably just get a DVI->HDMI cable and be done with it but to be honest I'd rather keep disliking vista till seven comes out.

After what a horrible failure Windows ME was, you would think that they would have given up on using ME.

I haven't used vista on my personal computer, but every time a friend with vista breaks something or has problems with something I seem to be the only one they know to call.  Networking was a pain in the ass when I was fixing or setting people's stuff up.  My brother's roommate gave me his laptop to fix it wouldn't connect to the internet for shit.  I tried everything; the only thing that worked was having to reinstall vista.  What a pile shit if you ask me.  They may have worked those bugs out by now, but networking always gave me problems when messing with vista.

I havent read the thread, but your BIOS couldve been making XP have intermittent problems like you were describing. Alot of newer machines are made specifically for Vista. I dont know how many I would get for repairs (worked at a Toshiba facility) that were due to people trying to use XP, when the BIOS doesnt support it. I fucking hate BIOS, it can even make your cooling fan(s) run constantly if not updated, lol.

Interesting... because I do have a Toshiba (X-205 SLi2)

Those are prolly the nicest models I seen there. I would help more, but my pod didnt work that model. When you get hired on, you get assigned to a pod (area devoted to a handful of models) and thank god those were not in mine. I always heard people bitching about those, lol. Big heavy sumbitch

The last straw for me with Vista was the registry. I couldnt delete some old reg files using regedit AND registry cleaners. I said fuck it, and had to install my own soundcard because the onboard sound didnt support XP. And to be honest, there are so many "little" bugs, that IMHO, is just there to make money for companies like DELL and GATEWAY and others, for they charge you to downgrade to XP. As far as that X-205, it should still be in warranty. If so, send that shit in...

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 on my desktop and on my laptop. I've never had a problem with it, it's fast, does everything I need and I've never had a crash.

Vista is dope.

Take it from a ERT. You go into any repair shop, and you will see all the new Vista models 10 times more than XP. It was always a nice surprise to get an XP model, for it ran faster, hence was a quicker number to hit for quota, lol.

Windows Vista Me 2

Is this for real?

I hope it burns even harder than ME.

Y'see, despite it's flaws (and there are fucking huge flaws in Linux, just like with all large software projects) the newest version of the Linux kernel gets released when it should be. These other os's get released when profits are slipping.
