To Pasteurize or not?
    #857646 - 09/01/02 07:53 PM (16 years, 27 days ago)

I'm going to use Scott's 3 in 1, should I pressurize or pasteurize it? In order to pasteurize, can I putt the soil in a baking pan and place in oven at 160-170 degrees?
Do I moisten the soil prior to putting it in the oven?

i don't use scott's 3in1.
however i do find pasterization to work rather well in the issues of contamination. taking that extra 10 minutes to nuke that coco coir or perlite will save you some headaches later on in the growth.

well... Pasturization isn't exactly microwave nukeing, but i suppose it does the job. Being only fimaliar with home made compost, i've never used scotts. Read the bag. Typically most bagged soil additives come pre pasturized, to kill any bugs and seeds of weeds
