question: LSD vs Shrooms tolerance

Both LSD and shrooms have a big immediate tolerance: If one does LSD two nights in a row, the second time will be much less intense. we all know this. So heres the question... If one consumed mushrooms one night, then LSD the night after, would that immediate tolerance from the mushrooms affect the effectiveness of the LSD?

Yes, they have cross tolerance.

i think u gotta double your dose the second day if you wanna do them two days in a row.

But eating 3.5g of shrooms the first day does not mean taking 7g of LSD the day after. :wink:

i've been wondering lately whether LSD has a longer tolerance than shrooms. Because I've been eating LSD for the past three weekends. 7 days apart. Each time I eat slightly more, but it doesn't really seem like I'm tripping any harder.

LSD has a slightly shorter tolerance than shrooms. I ate acid twice a week for awhile and tripped each time.

alright i have a question about that too, i tripped on friday night ( acid, 3 hits) and i wanted to trip again today, right now.  Would that be enough time for the tolerance to go down?  Seems like enough because its been a few days.

I find the magic is all in you.

I've tripped three days in a row plenty of times and gotten where I wanted to be each time.  It's all about your set setting and dose, you just gotta know your body and your mind and you gotta know what you're taking.

I took acid twice a week for about a month and a half to two months. tbh, each trip was better than the last.

Great for you. LSD and mushrooms have cross tolerance, though. Simple biology, I'm afraid. Set and setting can matter as much as dose, which is likely why you still had a good trip. That and its entirely possible they were very strong mushrooms.

alright, so i took 5 hits at like 10:45 ( and they're good ones because i've taken more from this batch and they have been fine) and now its 12:30 and im not really "tripping" yet.  I feel like im on acid mentally because i act the same and music sounds the same but im not getting real visuals yet, only very slight ones... Mabye it hasn't come on as hard because i ate right after i took the tabs?

Eating didn't impact it. I always eat right after I take acid. Visuals are extremely variable and don't define a trip.

i know that, but it just seems strange that im not getting much when ive taken less of the same batch and had a pretty insane trip.

Given the nature of the topic, I seriously doubt anybody has ever done a study on the subject. There is abundant anecdotal evidence to support cross tolerance and on top of that, it just makes sense. I can think of no reason why there would NOT be cross tolerance. There is cross tolerance between amphetamines, benzos, opioids, and so on, so why would there NOT be cross tolerance between tryptamine psychedelics, esp. ones as similar as LSD and psilocin?
