Hello, a friend of mine is growing for the first time. He ordered the PF classic and the Hawaiian from the folks at PF and innoculated 7 jars with each syringe, 14 altogether. A month later, only 4 of them colonized 100%, the others either being really slow, and a couple of them completely stopping. On August 22nd (a little over a week ago) those 4 were birthed. One of the cakes (from a tall half pint jar) has some gray fuzz on the top of it, but the rest of the cake is growing more/bigger shrooms than any of the other cakes. My main question is, do you think they will be safe to eat? They look pretty healthy and are not touching the gray fuzz (which I believe is cobweb, or maybe just dry mycelium?). Now the other 3 of those 4 are slowly catching up, but that one really seems to be doing well, and I am hoping to have enough to eat by next Thursday. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
