who doesnt watch/have cable TV?

I moved semi recently and when we moved i was adament about not a TV in the living room, my roommates eventually got me to settle with having a TV in the living room for games movies, but no cable TV, and i can live with that. I feel im more productive without one, everything on it is crap mostly.

anyone else dont watch TV, why dont you?

I order basic cable during the NFL season. That's it. The only time my TV is on is for watching movies with friends and watching "the big game" and all day every Sunday during football.

And I don't feel more productive with it off as the internet now holds reign over me like an dick who doesn't actually like it in a vise.

There's simply too much to do! :smirk:

I've stopped watching TV as well.

I definitely enjoy TV shows/movies for relaxation and educational purposes but I can't stand commercials anymore and nothing is on when I want it. Furthermore, the few shows that I do watch are readily available on the net (legally, in some cases). For news/current events I can scan a larger number of sources online and get more frequent/unbiased/relevant information than any TV program.

Yeah I have netflix, but absolutely no other television. If i want to watch a show, I order the season, and it definitely helps my productivity as well as my overall mindset since I don't just veg out and get lethargic.

I don't watch TV because the only way to get it here is to have cable, and I can't afford both internet and cable, so I chose internet. I honestly can say I don't miss it a lot.

I don't have cable tv. I have a television but there's no way i would pay for cable or satellite. I still get PBS and the cspan channels so really that is all i need. All the newspapers are online too.
