thanks for the reply, it came slightly damp but the colonisation of the liquid culture has taken 4 days so far and its still not ready to go on the cake. the cake has a little tiny white patch on it does that mean the kit is done for then? any way to salvage my grow? :frown:

The kit is contaminated. Contact the supplier and they will send a replacement. There is always a small % of contamination, and unfortunately it's often (and understandably) only the contaminations that are posted. The next one will be fine.
Liquid culture can take more than four days depending upon temp and the spores utilized. Be patient. When the vial is colonised place it in the refrigerator until the replacement kit arrives.
When the replacement arrives you will have an extra vial of liquid media for later use.

Thanks for the reply happyday :smile: thats what i was thinking the guy i ordered the kit from seemed cool so i will give him a call and explain the situation hopefully he will replace the cake.
