Help me with my room layout.
    #8524024 -

I just moved into a new apartment. It's a studio, so there's not a lot of room. I've arranged furniture to as best as I could, but I suck at space optimization.

I made a diagram with the current layout of the room. I'm curious to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to optimize space with the furniture I have.

Here's the diagram(everything drawn out in proportion):

I like the layout I have now because I have about 6 feet of room between my desk and the radiator where I could fit a small loveseat or futon. Getting a couch of some sort is essential because as of right now my friends have no where to sit when they come over.

One thing I won't do is put my bed up against the radiator, it'll get too damn hot. I might consider putting the desk there.

If you guys are savy with photoshop, I can upload the origial .psd so you can just drag and rotate the layers of furniture. Let me know if anyone wants that.

Gracias amigos.

where are you putting drugs at

Moving the desk onto the bed would allow you to sleep under the desk while still utilizing the comfy soft-nisity of the bed underneath you.

This is probably the #1 solution.

Well, I do have 13 foot ceilings. If I was living here for more than a year I might consider lofting my bed. But I'm not spending the money on that lumber for a 1 year stay.

You could put the drawer from the dresser under your bed and use the dresser as a couch

Thats what I was thinking. At the same time its nice to have it there in case someone crashes on the potential couch. The desk has a back to it so you can't see the bed.

I might move the desk over by the radiator, I feel like it'd make the room look bigger having a straight line of sight from my bed to the wall/window.

True. I don't know hot that radiator actually gets because I moved in just a few weeks ago. I think I might move the desk over there for now and if I have to move it again once winter rolls around, then oh well.
