Yeah, all of which is pretty much a moot point since you could just kick in the door. The deadbolt isn't going to break, the wood around the doorjamb will. If you go get a metal door and jamb, they will just break a window. You'd have to get bars for them. After that though, your pretty much safe...until they start tunnelling! LOL

Exactly. You will eventually reach a point where it's going to be pretty much impossible to enter your home.

Hinge Pins, a bolt buddy, and a high security deadbolt on my door is going to prevent the cops getting in with a battering ram(we've seen it time and time again).

Security Film or Bars for the windows.

Think of it as a project and work on your weakest point of the house whenever you can. After long enough, you'll have your very own fort knox

hey bro, i know how to defeat your lock. thermite. lol. same about the wood thing in above post.

i agree that having a fancy lock might be asking for trouble, implying that you have something special. someone might wait for you to open the door and push you in or threaten you with a weapon.

in my opinion, the best defense is to look poorer than your neighbor. lol.

I sell mul-t locks .... well something of the sort for the company i work for. I am also able to pick your schlege (spelling) weiser or any other lock in under 2 minutes. Usually 1 minute. taking a blank key and making an imprint is also VERY VERY easy. the circular design (our brand) make the locks we sell impossible to pick and impossible to make a key from a blank.

From the statistics, I strongly disagree with the whole "look poor" mentality, but each to his own :smile:

hehe and yea, thermite, liquid nitrogen, etc are all obvious ways to get in.  Being in the locksmith industry, I haven't, nor anyone with 30+ years of experience, seen a break in with any of that.

Usually it's a bump key, blunt force and/or a pry bar.

Putting some decent locks on your house will let you beat the odds of being broken into.

hehe keep your damn thermite away from my expensive locks! :tongue:

Well actually it shows nothing of the sort. My company (Pop-A-Lock) sells Multi-locks ... that may be the name of the brand we sell ... we do not sell many of them so I am not 100% sure of the name brand.
