Bulk Rye? *Update*

Would it work to cook rye for 45 min as to get the correct water moisture then to fill a filter patch bag with this rye, pressure cook, then innoculate with a syringe or possibly a grain to grain transfer, thus creating lots and lots of substrate? Just curious if anybody has ever tried this or has any theories as to how well it will work.

Usually I just pressure more quart jars holding 2 cups each of rye, but this isn't very pratical due to the amount (or should i say lack) of substrate?

Did it and it works great. If you want lots of substrate I would recommend this. Each bag of rye is equivalent to 20+ quart jars of rye. My pressure cooker only holds 7 quart jars at a time, whereas it holds 2 of these bags. Thats equal to over 40 jars. Talk about improvement.
