RAM[computer nerds come] experts
    #8384844 -

i was chilling with one of my friends who has a few.... underground..... connects and he came up with two of these 2xgb sticks, sealed

http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-dhx-xms2-dominator-2gb-2-x-1gb-pc8500-ddr2-1066mhz-2048mb-240/q/loc/101/204553588.html
the price was DEFINITELY right so i snagged it up, but i was looking to upgrade my whole computer. would you consider this ram "bad ass," enough to help my computer become "bad ass," or should i get a different brand/model

If you got them for a good price just keep them, you probably won't find a better deal for equal ram. As far as making your computer "bad ass," it will help, but will depend more on the rest of the components (CPU, GPU, etc...)

Well I think that the dominator line from corsair is their high end memory. There are some reviews on newegg, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820145173
it looks like you should be able to overclock them pretty well. I mean it's real high end stuff as far as DDR2 goes, and everything at the same price is probably going to perform the same.

excellent. my shady friend who's recently began hanging out in the black ghetto (friend is white nerd btw) had it, we were chillin and he just asked if i had 5$ for it. i knew it was a bomb deal but i didn't know it it was THIS good.

was brand new/sealed with the best buy price tag on it..... fine by me, i needed new ram
it was only the ram tho, NO fan. i may end up getting the fan just b/c i didn't know i had such a jewel on my hands. i notice a huge difference in performance already.

Yeah man Corsair is a decent brand of memory. Just make sure that you are installing the right kind of memory because it can cause some weird problems if you install the wrong kind.

Also beware of any limitations your motherboard might have. I bought 4gb (2 x 2gb) of corsair ram 2 days ago and it turns out my motherboard can only accept 2 gb. SO now I have to find someone to sell this ram to and its sux because everyone i know only have computers that accept ddr ram instead of ddr2.

A note. Check out newegg, you can get 4gigs for around 150 bucks (2x2GB so it'll run in Dual Channel). Someone mentioned though that their board couldn't accept more than 2gb of RAM, double check your boards specs, and also take into consideration, if you run any windows 32bit operating system, it will ONLY recognize 3.2GB of RAM, even if you put 8gb in.

DDR2 is a good choice as DDR3 is a bit too pricy still.
