How much does weed fuck with your memory?

So me and my mates have been wondering this for a while... how much does weed mess with your head?

We all have exams coming up and are considering stopping purely for the reason of it affecting our results.

Its clear to see how your memory gets pretty hazey while your high and the day after and was wondering what proof there is of long term memory problems?

All depends on who you are.


I for one, can function perfectly while under the influence of Cannabis.

From experience, short term memory is heavily affected while high.
I havent noticed anything the day after tho....

pretty bad, i smoked at least 5 times a day heavy, with hash for some of the months, for 2 years, and i really have trouble reflecting on a lot of events, and i would never drink

I feel like it fucks my short term memory but I remember things from long in my past and am like "whoa, where'd that come from"

When I stop smoking it goes away.

I don't think it's permanent.

Ya, THC affects the areas of the brain responsible for short term memory. Sometimes, though, studying with just a little pinch hit here or there does the trick quite nicely.

Yeah, or after a bowl I found I can bang out a paper or essay or whatnot super quickly and well thought out.

Makes me want to try it on acid.

For my exams i put down the pot pipe, and pick up the acid. Just drop a hit and study for like 8-12 hours, write the exam on the comedown. Works great!

I would have to be REALLY interested in the subject to study on acid.

Odds are if I dosed and tried to study I'd get antsy and go for a bike ride or something.

i can function fine on weed and it doesn't screw with my memory too bad. it kills my motivation sometimes though.

I find it funny that I can drive better than like 80% of the people I know whilst stoned out of my gourd, compared to their being sober. (Did that make sense?)

i notice absolutely no difference in my driving sober-vs-stoned except when i'm high i can control the speed way easier (no cruise control, sensitive throttle.)
irresponsible or not, i take a few drags right as i'm getting ready to go drive. eases my nerves and i can focus better.

I find I'm probably a better driver a little stoned than sober. I get pissed when driving sober...when I'm high I'm just cruisin' and listening to some tunes.
