ohio mushrooms
    #835261 - 08/22/02 07:44 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

it has rained for the past couple of days and i was wondering where in ohio to go to look for active mushrooms? we went to lancaster and found some shrooms growing on aged cow patties but when we got them home the next morning they resembled ink caps. white stem, brownish top brownish/purple dark spore print and very dark blackish gills. does anyone have any suggestions as to where in ohio to look and in exacly what habitat?
thanks
beegee

Not much in ohio. Subbs would be best bet.

do you know of any good spots in central ohio to look for subbs?
do you usually find them on manure or in hay, or the ground?

I have Pans growing in my back yard and although they have flushed repeatedly since the spring, they seem to have stopped now. Read the info about Pan casters as well as they should grow where you are and grow in lawns.
