Police: "Multiple" dead in South Side CHICAGO

Multiple adults were found dead Wednesday inside a house on the city's South Side, police said.

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond could not immediately confirm the number or manner of deaths.

"We can't confirm the number yet because we have not been through the scene, but we know there are multiple fatals inside this residence," Bond told reporters near the home.

The Cook County medical examiner's office confirms there were multiple people dead.


Wednesday afternoon's shooting comes on the heels of a particularly violent weekend in the city. Between Friday night and early Monday morning, 36 people were shot in Chicago, nine fatally, and two people were stabbed.

The beginning of the week saw continued violence. Over Monday night, four people were killed and eight more injured in seven separate incidents.

Tuesday night four people were shot; one of those victims died.

It's so fucking crazy right now.

I get the Chicago Tribune, and last weekend the headline was 20-something people shot in one night.

It's the weather. I'm sure I'm going to be called a horrible racist for saying this, but all the people in the ghetto have been inside all winter. This was a rough, rough winter. Probably the worst we've had in my lifetime. So nobody was out all winter and they have all this pent up street anger.

So now that the weather has been awesome the last few weeks everyone is out shooting at the peeps they haven't been able to find all winter.

That's the North for you. We have to concentrate our violence in the summer months. It's too cold to do anything in the winter, even shoot somebody.

I think something's going on. Gang war? Riot? who knows? The paper isn't saying shit. This CANT be just random.

Although I am from chicago (originally), and I can definitely see how gang warfare would be restricted by the horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible COLD.

a) black people shoot other people more often, and
b) black people hate cold weather

That's some crazy shit about the sheer numbers of shootings though - that's practically unheard of (at least I've never heard of such high numbers). My mom travels to Chicago all the time for work, and although I'm sure the sectors she's visiting aren't the same ones where everyone's getting shot, I still can't help but worry.

I only know that "black people hate cold weather" because I've been told that by countless black people. And the "black people shoot other people more often" is just a statistic, with all the accuracy of percentages removed.

Good to know about the non-randomness of the shootings though, I <3 my mommy.
