64 bit drivers?

So I just got a new Dell computer, and I installed XP Pro 64-bit edition.
Now my drivers seem to be completely out of whack.
Are 64 bit drivers basically non-existant?
Should I just revert back to 32 bit XP Pro?

I've never had a problem finding drivers with 64-bit Vista. What things specifically can't you find?

I'm missing fairly basic things:
The drivers for my ethernet card and wireless card don't seem to be compatible. That and my audio drivers are missing.
I think it'll just be easier to go back to the 32 bit version.
I'd take a shot at Linux, but I don't know any coding. I also need all the MS office apps to work, (although I'm sure there are Linux compatible programs.)

He is referring to XP specifically.
However, I am interested in trying vista once school ends. Do you think the 64bit version has equal compatibility with programs than the 32 bit version? Does the 64 bit have noticeable advantages to the 32 bit?

Yeah, grab gentoo linux. It has superior support for amd64 when compared to other distros.
I run 64bit vista on another partition and its a goddamn nuiscance when it comes to installing hardware. Come to think of it its fucking annoying when you come to do anything

i dunno, you could try looking up the specifications of your dell's model (motherboard) and then go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and search for that motherboard model's drivers and see if there are 64 bit drivers for it... is my best guess, but i don't know what luck you'll have.

Ive been running Win XP 64 for about 2-3 years now. When it first came out, I was basically pulling my hair out due to the incompatibilities of software and hardware.
Then about a year or so ago, I have everything working great. Software either works under the 32 platform which works under x64, or you find drivers much easier.
The problem now is that rather than producing drivers and compatible software for x64, they are now turning towards VISTA x64 !!!! Newer programs are once again causing a headache.
I however have not reinstalled 32 bit for this entire time. If something does indeed go wrong with my PC, I may convert back. It just takes extra research with x64 running.
