im trying to move onto a house boat

yeah, there is a large canal by my house that never freezes in the winter (chicago land area).

ive also been hoping that i can find a diesel powered one so i can convert it to vegetable oil.

anyone else ever live on a boat?

yeah, i mean, its a shitty canal, but i can deal with that...

it also goes to lake michigan and to the mississippi river, which can get you almost anywhere...

I watched a show where this family lived on a massive converted tanker. It was like a mansion on water but long and narrow. I loved the character of it. I'd retire on a house boat.

Yeah living on a boat always seemed pretty sweet.

I used to work at hunter marine making huge sailboats, and I pretty much just spent every day envying the shit out of the people who were buying them.

did for a bit over a month it was kinda fun, but the only bitch i had was being Damp. other than that fishin drinkin smokin was about it.


go for it the bigger the boat the better the experiance i would guess

i think that regular houses are a rip off, and i'm a real estate developer, i know.

i did want to live in a converted plane, but i cant get one for less than 60K, and that does not include the 10k plus for delivery to my property out in NV.

but, i found a house boat for only $2000, and i think that i might be able to get it down to Chicago and parked at a dock for reasonably cheap.
