Didgeridoo

so i'm thinking of getting a didgeridoo, one of these beginner ones specifically

they sound so fucking tribal, and I wanna learn circular breathing in the process and i think it'll benefit my lungs as well.

anyone have any experience with these things?

I have tried to play em, but it takes more practice to get the sound right, then to actually circular breathe it takes a lot of practice. But yes, they sound freaking awesome. Check out some Xavier Rudd if you want to listen to some good music with didges.

Someone was selling PVC didgeridoos in the marketplace a couple weeks ago. They are tough to get it to sound right.

If you think you want to pick up the didji, just head to the hardware store and make a PVC one to learn on, it'll cost you about $10. If you like it, then start looking around for something a bit nicer. I've got 2 PVC didjis that're tuned to fifths, they sound bad ass when played together. Not as warm sounding as a good one, but they're great to practice technique on.

Good way to practice the breathing is use a straw or pen tube and a glass of water. Try to consistently blow bubbles of the same size and intensity.

I have been playing for over a year.

You can easily make a beginner one out of PVC pipe for like 7$

how long did it take you to start getting the breathing and that *sound* down?
