When I decided to start using drugs, I specifically remember saying to myself that if a situation ever comes up where I have to choose a woman or drugs, that I'll give up drugs.

The situation came up, and I got stuck in a relationship when all I wanted to do was get high, and I ended up really resenting her for it.

If she's intelligent and open to new ideas, maybe she will at least try reading non-objective information about drugs and get over the initial DARE fright that people tend to feel.

i would use a pressure cooker if using bird seed or anything else but brown rice. if using brown rice you can just boil

Well, basically it isn't fair that she proposes to quit something that isn't as important to her in her lifestyle as drugs are to you.

If hair is so important to her and drugs are so important to you, you should find a compromise.

A friend of mine hated the fact that his gf went to tanning booths, with all the skin cancer stuff. She didn't want to quit because being tanned was important for her. In exchange he quit smoking cigars which for him was an important social event with his friends after going out on maneuvers.

Both quit something that was equally important so neither felt like they had beaten the other.

Meh to me drugs really mean zero to me, really just people matter to me.

Giving a person you are in a relationship with a ultimatum to change usually is not a good sign, though it almost always seems to happen. Don't try to change people like that.

She should appreciate your individuality.
She grew to like you as who you are, a weed smoking, beer drinking, thuggish & ruggish down ass individual. Just the thought of her asking you to change doesn't make sense if you guys have been dating for 8 years.

Why didn't she have a problem with it before?
Why has your drug use become a serious issue now?

She has to understand that if she's asking you to choose her or drugs, she is blatantly asking you if she can change YOU as a person. If you do conform to her wantings, what would be the point of being with her if she doesn't even appreciate who you are? You are you. She is she.

My advice: You're a grown ass man. Make your own decisions. If she doesn't like you for who you are, then she doesn't like you. Don't let her mold you into her "picture-perfect boyfriend".
