McCain called his wife a cunt.

It happened a while ago, not sure if it has been publicized much yet. How disrespectful to say something like that to your wife!

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

From what I hear, she is.

It's an unassailable fact that she stole money that was supposed to go to buy medicine for children in Africa and used it to fund her own prescription drug habit.

But I couldn't care less what Mccain has to say about her, whether she is or not.

It's just not news.

Couldn't agree more. I find it annoying how we are so hung up on the private lives of our politicians in this country. I swear, the US is really starting to resemble a gossipy junior high classroom. For all I care Mccain could have fucked 50 hookers and snorted coke off of Nancy Pelosi's wrinkled ass. That's his own business, not yours or mine. What Mccain can do for the country should be the issue at hand.

Agreed, and I think it is.

Listen, I know quite a few people that have serious heads for politics. I don't mean politicians or strategists, just people who pay close attention to things and know what's going on. And I don't know anyone who gives any weight to things like this.

Nobody is going to make a decision about whom they vote for based on something silly like this. In the end, people are going to place their vote with the candidate that they best think shares their values and hopes for the direction of the country.

This isn't actual news, and I think the forum it was presented speaks volumes. I mean, therawstory.com is not exactly a hot-bed of investigative journalism. I'm sure these people are scumballs, just like they're attempting to make Mccain out to be.

And I'm not defending Mccain. He certainly doesn't have my vote. But articles like the one the OP posted are just petty and pointless.

Not more informed fellows but I'm pretty sure your average run-of-the-mill dumbass might just be influenced by this kind of information and these people vastly outnumber those who are informed. On more than a few occasions I've spoken to blue-collar types that have admitted to not liking Obama as a candidate merely because of that American flag lapel pin story and the lie about him being Muslim. In 2000, George W. Bush was marketed as the guy Americans would like to have a beer with while Gore was some stilted square and this perception had a pretty tangible impact on the outcome.

Who gives a shit whether the president calls his wife a cunt or gets some head or seems a little boring? How about the fact that our current president can't seem to form sentences? How was THAT not a bigger deal to people? [end gratuitous cheap shot]
