My friend also said that some cow pies were covered in a white substance am I correct in assumeing this is mycelium (sp?)? If so are there steps we can take towards making sure the pies give off bigger flushes or less aborts and yes moving them inside is an option Im a newb and am trying to learn alot about cultivation and hunting and would be pleased to hear about anyones succeses with any type of operation with cow pies.

Would more rain like later in the week before the mushrooms have matured cause any damage to the mycelium or the pins themselves? If so I think we might move a few inside for safe keepin

you have the advantage of having access to multiple cow pies.

take some indoors to a terrarium.

to ensure the survival of the pies so they have a chance to mature .. . . . .

if it hasn't rained in like two days, take a spray bottle out there and give them a good misting with water. also you can cover the pies a little with grass or straw so they don't get too much sun or dry out. direct sunlight tends to reduce potency too. you may also decide to take a handfull of potting soil or plain dirt from the pasture and cover the pies with about a half inch, and then moisten that. the point is to give the pies a damp but not wet environment.

After harvest you could fill up a couple bags/buckets with them, and toss them in a hole in your back yard. Then you won't have to go so far to keep an eye on them.

well, im the man w/ the plan, the big man, the cowboy, the guy w/ the feild. Here whats goin on as of now. We got some mycelium growing on the side of a washed out hill. The first day i checked it, ide say their were 15-20 spots about the size of a small childs rash. w/ the second day came rain, and the mycelium got ide say around 30% bigger. The cow cakes had aot of activity on them, and w/ the rain, everything got bigger and better. the second days rain kinda slowed things down. the mycelium is back where it started in surface area, maybe a lil less. Thje cakes are slowing down, but i did find a few more, odd looking shroomies. If i could get my damn camera to work, i would definatly post pix, and have them identified. ide say there are a total of 5-6 diffrent kinds growing around here. I want to take a few babies inside, because the rain isnt gonna let up for the next few days, we will let you know how tomarrow turns out, hopefully, the rain will hold off
