Need info on fixing pressure cooker.

I have an old pressure cooker. It's not one with all kinds of complicated dials and shit. But the problem is when i use it, about 15 min into it all the pink valve pops up and it just starts screaming. I then have to turn it off because i am afraid it will blow up. Any advice or websites on how to fix it that anyone knows of? much apprecation:)

Ya, just turn it down to low when it gets to that point.
