Agalloch/PNW

just got back from Portland and Seattle and the agalloch shows.  absolutely amazing.  the PNW is such a cool place, I'm sad I couldn't stay longer to check out the area.  Met The entire band in seattle, talked with John Haughm for hours.  Such a cool guy. 

The seattle show was great, got some pictures/videos but my camera ran out of space after the second song.  The opening act(one of them) Grayceon, was absolutely amazing.  The cellist/singer, Jackie was so sweet.  she offered me a ride from Seattle to portland for the next show.  Talked with some roaides and such and talked with John and his girlfriend Veleda(she does all the photography for agalloch) for an hour or so after the show.

made it to portland a bit late, but caught the majority of Grayceon's amazing set, Red sparrowes were great, then agalloch went on, got the whole show on video.  watched red sparrowes and grayceon with with John and Veleda.  Talked with John again after the show, Jason and Don and Aesop as well.  great folks, all of them  They couldn't have made the trip better. 

John brought me a copy of the Mantle 2xLP at the portland show.  Don put one copy of pale folklore on vinyl at the seattle show at the merch booth but I was a second late to buy it.  usually sells for $2-400 on ebay.  same with the mantle LP.  I got the ashes against the grain LP at the seattle show and everyone signed it.  They signed the mantle LP too.  John dedicated the first ever performance of I Am The Wooden Doors(off the mantle) to me for coming out from philly just to see Agalloch. also the first time they've ever played not unlike the waves live.  spent the remainder of the time in portland traveling around seeing NE portland and downtown.  didn't get to check out SE which I'd have liked to.

heres limbs from seattle. the seattle vids are kinda dark. somethin was wrong with the portland videos so i took it to the store to get it put on dvd. falling snow and a short clip of as embers dress the sky from seattle are coming up next.

cool, i,d love to see them live, nice that their approachable people,looking around for their latest ep, probably would have to order it,looks like typical portland weather ey

there were bits of a celebration for the death of man thrown itnto in the shadow of our pale companion, some other stuff in another song or two also I think. video for portland show is awesome. it'll be on repeat for a while. whole show is about 1h21m.

so I'm waiting to hear back from the band...they've got a few pics of me and them and such.  theyre all in europe now playing 2 shows and recording a live dvd at one of them.  pretty depressed being back in philly.  :frown:
