Portland or Boulder?

I am trying to decide where to move once I have money saved up. Where I live now doesnt cohere at all with my beliefs or the lifestyle I want to live. Any of you guys live in Colorado or the Portland area?

umm... flip a coin.
both places are pretty awesome.
i'd choose portland only because it's closer to the sea, but then again, i'd choose other places over portland.

Do you want rain or snow?
I'd pick a suburb of Boulder myself. Broomfield/Louisville area.
These sites might help you decide in a black-and-white kind of way: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2010/snapshots/PL0807850.html http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2010/snapshots/PL4159000.html

Well if you have more money than you know what to do with, love dave matthews band, and are a douchebag new age yuppie in general I'd say Boulder is perfect for you.
Never been to portland though so I have no basis to compare the two. I just wouldnt wanna live in Boulder again.
EDIT: boulder doesnt get that much snow. I mean, it does but it ususally doesnt stick around very long. The sun is intense and tends to melt everything within a couple days if not the morning after it snows. It's really a beautiful place weather wise.

That's true. But it's been snowing there recently, and it's fucking April.
And some winters are really snowy there. Although not for the most part.
I am going off secondhand advice though. Know a couple friends who used to live in Colorado.

Thank you! I dont really have a preference with rain or snow. I was born in Michigan so the cold doesnt bother me but right now being stuck in the bible belt does.

Boulder is great for rock climbers.
Portland is great for hipsters.

Ha Im far from rich and not a doushebag but what attracts me to Boulder is how close the mountins are and the general focus on things to do outdoors.

You're more of a city guy than myself (judging from other threads I've seen you in)... But what would you pick over Portland out of curiosity?

Ha. I'm from michigan as well. Detroit is WAY colder than Boulder. I mean, temperature wise yeah Boulder is colder. But -10 in boulder feels like 10 degrees in detroit. Humidity makes the michigan cold SOOO much worse.
