Mold - how die-hard is it?

Hello everybody.

First off, this post might well be in the wrong forum, please move if appropriate.

Question: A friend wants to grow some outdoor cannabis and use it all for ice-extraction. Hes a bit worried mold will become a problem and is wondering what he can do to eliminate it after extraction?

I would say theres no way you can eliminate it 100% once it gets a hold, but what do you guys think? I have a sneaky suspicion quite a few of you in here know your stuff pretty well... :tongue2:

use a food dehydrator, or something else to dry it quickly
question of my own, would it be practical to make bubble hash then take the plant material, dry it and run a bho or ipa extraction to get the rest?
i believe in getting the most out of everything lol

I hate the idea of a food dehydrator. There are all kinds of methods for drying MJ. You could use a cardboard box, run thin nylon rope through it and hang your buds up that way. It takes about 6 days at 70 degrees. By removing the big stems you speed up drying time. Stop watering a week before harvest. This also helps.

If you want to preserve quality, and want to dry it super fast, use dry ice.

Go and pick up the indoor/outdoor growers bible by Jorge Cervantes. You will find it all in there.

BTW most of the weed found around town has mold of some sort on it according to the "bible", but if you end up with bud mold you MUST destroy the plant(s).
