I would say for you to keep a steady eye on that little pathsture. Don't even bother with useing your spent cakes, just let nature do its thing. Cubensis are said to be abundant in your state, more-so during the spring and fall and summer months.

Thanks for the replies,
You think that P. Cubensis will even grow in a city pasture? Will I find any other Psilocybes than Cubes? Right now it's about 70 and about to rain. How long do I wait after the rain? There is also a place where they keep the horses should I look in there or just the pasture. Is it easy to identify a cube with the cap unopened, do they look th same?
Sorry for all the Q's thanks.

case::: the stages of cubensis are not hard to learn once you have seen the mushroom, in person, in all stages of growth. Mark Twain once said something along the lines of "A man who has held a cat by the tail knows more about cats, then a man who has spent his whole life only reading about cats". I hope that makes sense to you, it does for me. Anyways, when you find your first cube(s) you will almost immediately know what you have found. Look for that blueing that everyone at the shroomery TALKS ABOUT CONSTANTLY!!!
Answers: Yes they will grow in a city pasture. Yes you should be able to find other species, but you need to first learn by the way of the Cube. Wait a day or two. Horse manure is said to be an EXcellent medium for shroomies. And usually when the cap hasnt opened yet, The caps are almost PURE GOLD in color, and they usually will fade to a whiteish with a dark nipple after the veil splits open.
Have a Good day.

Well I went to the trail like 12 hours after it rained.I walked around for about 45 min. I found about 10 different kinds of mushrooms
all over the place there were tons of them but no Cubensis maybe it is still to cold?I know where another pasture is now I'll check there to next time it rains.

Do you know any reason there wasn't any cubensis?

You might want to run some spore prints on the mushrooms you do find. There are several psychoactive panaeolous species which thrive in warmer climates. ( p. cyanescens, tropicallis, ) And many which aren't active, but are excellent indicator species. (p. antillarum)
GggREAT hits it on the head with his suggestion that you look for the tell-tale bluing reaction. If you find it in dung- dwellers, you've almost certainly found an active mushroom.
