anyone ever snowboard in slush?

i really want to go snowboarding tomorrow, but the only places within driving range from me (im in chi-town) are going to be slush at the best.

one of my friends says its still fun, regardless of the shitty snow....

has anyone ever tried this? any input would be appreciated

I broke my arm in slush when I was 12.
Not worth it, its like surfing in a pond.

Good old spring conditions!

If it's slushy new snow, it'll be kind of slow.

If it's old snow that's part melted, it'll be fast as hell.

Wear waterproof clothes :thumbup:

I learned how to snowboard in nothing but slush. Paoli Indiana has this little ski hill called Paoli Peaks. Artificial snow and above freezing temps make for some pure slush. It's cool, though.

I've gone to the slopes twice in my life. When I was 13 I learned how to ski on ice basically....

And a year ago I leanred to snowboard on the same thing... That's one of the problems with the MD/PA area... We get more ice here than snow per year, it would seem.

The time I went out on the board a year ago... it was tough... it probably would have been way easier to learn on powder, but I learned anyway... it took all day but I got the hang of it.... But I *DID* take a nasty spill on my head. It wouldn't have hurt so much if it was snow.

Yea man... Put up some moolah for a hotel and drive to the Pokanos for a weekend. .. or take a train or fly it.

I've never been to Chicago but I'd imagine one good thing about living in the MIDDLe of the country.. is that a roundtrip to anywhere would be half the price as us east/west coasters when we fly.
