its only 20 at wally world. will this work for humidifing my terrarium? and when people set up cool mist humidifiers they drill holes in the things. where do i drill the hole for the pipe to run through? how do i know im not drilling into something important? and also why cant u just leave humidifiers on all the time instead of having them on timers?

If you leave them on all the time you will supersaturate your cakes or casings. Its better to first see how your humidifier will produce mist ( abundance of), then use it in moderation. Its safe to cut a hole anywhere in the plastic holding tank, but not the piece that slides into the tank that the mist comes out of. It will work, but watch for water droplets on the casing layer. If you start to get a buildup of water on top of the casing layer, it is too wet. bluhoney

i have this humidifier and i think it is the worst one created...

it does not produce any visible humidity in the air it puts out and does not seem to put out enough. it is cheap, thats why i bought it too. but a few days ago i did an experiment, i turned it off. and THEN i finally saw a pin on one cake. cakes were 2 1/2 weeks birthed and had nothing. now they are starting to come around. straight perlite now with misting the walls. it seems like the coolmist was actually leaving my cakes DRY. thats the robotussin coolmist. i dont know about other coolmists.

however, i bought a vicks ultra-sonic for another terrarium, and it works beautifully.
