a question about cannabis, cmon, who here could hear a million questions about cannabis?
    #8001208 -

no one ever asks about that, right? alright, here's the question

cannabis doesn't need too much root space apparently, right? i mean, that thing is like a weed and can get big as shit with good nutrients and a small pot.

does anyone know what the plant to root ratio is? ANYONE? help me out?
peace

Incorect. Weed needs a TON of space for big healthy roots. It sounds like you have some reading/research to do. Trust me it is WAYYYY better to know exactly what your doing before you grow. Look up some how to videos. seriously

The bigger the plant gets above ground, the bigger the roots get below ground. Just imagine looking at a mirror. The top branches out just as much as the roots branch out and they parellel each other. If you want a huge plant, you need a huge pot to plant in.

i don't want a huge plant, i want a row of 15 3 and 1/2 feet pot plants. I can't get away with growing some huge plants, here's the thing, this things already gotten a foot, and it's roots are only 2 inches deep and wide, that's what gave me the idea they don't need huge roots, but shit, i figure the wider the roots the healthier the plant, how much root space should i give them to keep them between 3 and 4 feet? thanks

should be fine if you wanna keep em small (tie down, fan leave trim, ect.)
Small outdoor guerrilla I suppose?

I've seen outdoor fully flowered 3'-4' plants with unbelievably small root systems. Very small harvests tho..
Not too horrible if you have DANK genetics and limited outdoor space

crap, i guess. I don't know, i have limited space. I heard that 10 plants only 3-4 feet will give you about the same amount of shit as a plant 7-8 feet taking up about the same amount of space. Can you give me harvest details?

and what is the root space equivalent? about the same as the plant? way less, way more, less, more... Help me out?

are you planning on keeping them in pots or in the ground?

in the ground, although it's in an area where they might hit limestone if they root too far down. But basically, 2 feet of soil, and probably at least another 2 feet of really dense soil under that, that i guess right now is my biggest problem, if i flatten the soil out too much, they might not grow large enough to bud, if i leave it piled up too much, and let the roots grow too far down, it might get too big, and then i'll have a problem that i have to keep trimming it down so it doesn't get too big, that's why i'm asking.

another thing, although i've heard it'll grow like shit if it doesn't get enough rootspace, the plant is about a foot tall, and there's only about 2 and a half inches of roots, that's why i was asking. ANYONE?

peace

IME a 3 gallon container can produce a plant 6 feet tall. If you want a 3-4 foot plant use a 2 gallon container.

IME plants should have the most room for their roots as possible. If you don't want tall plants you should still give the roots as much room as possible, but you should crop and train the plants to make them thick and branchy bushes.

can you give me some details on this? so.... growing with about the amount of soil a 2 gallon container is better to keep them under 4 feet, although if not, use as much soil as possible, but crop them and shit, do you know how to do that?
thanks

Yes, I know how to crop and train plants...but that knowledge was learned over several growing seasons. Cropping involves cutting the top off the plant when it is has several nodes worth of growth, this encourages the side shoots to grow vertically to take place of the cut top. Depending on how the plant responds, whether it sends its side shoots strait up or outward and up, you can train it by tying the branches into the position that you want them.

The knowledge will come with a lot of reading and with a few grows under your belt. Patience is key when dealing with plants.

A friend of mine tried it once, and apparently it worked.

But it's totally unecessary and probably the least efficient way to consume it.

I already told you. 1/2 gallon per foot of plant. If you don't want to give the roots a lot of room you will not get a great harvest. Do some reading and get some experience. All strains are different and will respond to conditions differently.
