One thing I don't like is when the two teams are tied near the end of the game,
then one of the two teams wins because they're able to pull off a field goal.

At the online sportsbook Bodog Sports, the 2008 Super Bowl point spread on the New York Giants vs. New England Patriots game is currently sitting at -11.5 points chalk the Pats, with the total expected at 54 points. The Patriots are also big odds favorite with betting line -450 to win the game and the Giants odds to win the Super Bowl 42 are underdog +325. The point spread on the Super Bowl 2008 is event bigger at Bookmaker, where the Patriots are -12 points favorite against the spread.

When the line opened it was 14.5, I would have taken the giants on that. Not so sure about 11.5 though.

What the other posts are about is point spread, in other words, in an even money bet, if you take the Patriots, they have to win by 11.5 points
