my dog

ok
so last night while i was asleep (i took quite a lot of Nyquil and was soundly knocked out)
my neighbor, an Afghani man in his 30's, broke into my backyard.

This is his story:
His Pomeranian supposedly ran into my yard. For what reason I have yet to find out. Then, consequently, he ran into my yard as well. Afterwards, his pitbull jumped over my wall into the backyard. My gate is about as tall as me and I'm around 5'10". From then, his pitbull malled my dog targeting his neck, aiming to kill.

Well, thankfully, his pitbull did not succeed. But, now my dog is in the hospital and there was nerve and tissue damage. He is currently awaiting surgery and there is a 50/50 chance of surviving.


It's so sad seeing my dog like this. My dog is usually happy and jumpy. And he also loves getting high, always skipping over when i'm smoking outside.

that sucks man. hope the surgery goes well. you oughta go beat his dogs ass. i came home today and my girlfriend had sold my puppy i just recently got a few months ago. pure blood airedale terrier and he loved to smoke with me.

thats why i support legislation against the breeds of dog that were bred to be violent... its fucking bullshit, cause these dogs were meant for hunting... not urban pets

dogs are resilient, I had a dobie that was hit by a logging truck, it took about a
month of carrying him out to poop before he was really walking again, after 6
months he was his same old playful self

I will. He lives right next door. I wish my roommates could've woke me up when this happened, but I guess I knocked out good.

Losing a pet is sad. It's like losing a family member IMO.

you're right, it is bullshit, it's the owners that are at fault, this 'hunting dog' is also known as americas favorite pet, only a handful have attacked anything

there is a purpose for every dog
shitzus to poodles to polmeranians to pi bulls
so dont hate on them they are trained to become something, a pit bull puppy will not become violent unless it is protecting its master and when a good pit bull is a around smart dogs just back down... stupid ones get their neck ripeped

I've never had a better dog, my wife killed him, it was deliberate
I filed for a divorce immediately afterwards, there were other things
prior to that that had me considering it, killing my dog put me in a
position that I worried for the lives of my kids and myself

Please shut the fuck up. My dog is smart and probably did back down, he wouldn't hurt a fly. That pitbull had no right to attack my dog and his owner definitely had no right to be in my backyard.

He's lucky I wasn't awake. Or else both of them would have bullets in them right now.

is your neighbor paying for your vet bills? If he's not you're legally entitled to it, in fact it may even go as so far as animal control taking possession of the dog and putting it down.

He says he's willing to pay for the vet bills. But my dog has to undergo surgery, so his bills might be higher than expected.
But, I wouldn't go as far as putting his dog to sleep. During the attack, I would have no regret in killing his dog, but after seeing my dog in that much pain, I rather not put his dog through the same.

yah, im not saying you should call and get the dog put down, but if you file a police report (which you would need to do if you wanted to sue) animal control would become involved and will definitely take the dog.  However it's cool your neighbor is taking responsibility, sorry to hear about your pet my friend :frown:
