Goddamn dude, when are we going to meet up?  Everytime we're both in this state it's during the frigid months of winter.  I'd be willing to meet you halfway in Shenandoah or something, I know there has to be a few others that live in the VA/NC/TN area that would/could be down for some good camping in the Appalachians.

An Asheville gathering would be freakin' sweet, but I don't know much about the camping aspect there.  I've only stayed in hotels outside the city and taxi'd into downtown to watch music and/or bar hop.  There's almost always live music in every other bar and pub downtown.  I saw this killer band on New Year's there called SciFi, a 3 piece with an amazing keyboardist.. no guitar.  :thumbup:


I'd be down for a NC/SW VA gathering once it gets warmer.. assuming I can make it. I freaking love Asheville I'd love to go to a gathering down there.


i want to come to the NC gathering too. i've lived here my whole life after all. we should all go to smilefest this summer, or the sprouting grass festival in the spring. sprouting grass would be cool because it's near asheville and it's a very very small festival, if you know what i mean ; )

let's maybe start a NC gathering thread in the gathering forum and get a basic roll call for people in the area. it'd be great to hang out with some shroomerites somewhere other than bonnaroo.

I would definitely like to put together some kind of Appalachian back country camping gathering.. so long as nobody brings weapons or gets too messed up and starts shitting in front of everyone right next to the fire or anything like that.

i happen to know the best (imo) place to camp in the NC mountains. there's something like 40 waterfalls, a sliding rock, and you camp on these little islands in the middle of the river. it's a awesome place really. the only downside is you have to hike in all your camp stuff and it's about 2 miles on rough terrain. it's no problem for me, but not everyone enjoys that type of thing.

there's a good spot for cliff diving too, if that's your thing. then if you hike the trail there's about forty waterfalls dotted here and there. it's the horseshoe river, about an hour south of ashville.

last time i was there some girl i didn't know jumped off the cliff and broke her back, and the rangers had to chain saw through the forest at 11 pm so they could rescue her. a friend of mine was tripping and it scared the crap out of him when they started chain sawing their way into the clearing, heh. it was all good in the end though.

someone a little more well known than me should start a gathering thread and we can plan something out. someone like you shroomism. :wink:

Yea, it kind of sucks hey.

Well the general consensus seems southern B.C. Whether it be in the lower okanagan or the island. The vernon area was recently suggested and I think that would be the best.

But if that gathering happens, it's no one I really know. I'm not scared of strangers, but with the history of past gatherings, it makes me slightly nervous. If it happens, you better damn well go! :P

I didn't mean to insinuate that you're a complete social retard.  It's just that it seems to some people who have never been to a gathering before that it's a wonderful opportunity to eat a bunch of crazy psychedelics and run through the forest naked. 

It really bothers me when people think that gatherings are drug fueled substance fests.  They are not.  They are cool, chill peoples usually going camping in the forest and mushroom hunting.  That's it.  Leave your stash at home, because I am the one who always ends up holding your hand while your ego goes on a cosmic adventure to hell and back.
