resizing an image

what would i have to do to resize an image to fit for my avatar?

Open the image in MS Paint (Start->Programs->Accessories->Paint)

Click on "Image" in the top menu. Click on "Stretch/Skew". Enter a lower percent value in the top two boxes. OK.

Click on "Image" in the top menu. Click on "Properties". Note the resolution and adjust via Stretch/Skew accordingly.

You could be more precise about it if you had a better image manip. software like Irfanview, Gimp, or Photoshop.

i tried the paint thing but the avatar i have in mind is a motion av or whatever and paint just freezes the image.

it's supposed to let you do it there without needing to download anything...but I've never tried using it myself, so I'm not sure exactly what all's in volved with this one

generally though - you gotta download a program specifically for this kinda shit  :yesnod:
