Quitting smoking cannabis, need help sleeping.
    #7848607 -

my fiance and I are quitting smoking. we dont want to, however it is in our best interest when it comes to employment, soooooo we must. we have been having a hard time falling and staying asleep without it, luckily i planned on this happening and kept a little. we need something herbal to help us in its place. any suggestions outside of lotus?

any and all suggestions are welcome, smoking, tea, capsules, whatever works for you, or someone you know, i would love to hear about it. ive only got about a weeks worth of herb left, so i need to find something quick.

no real suggestions outside of tough it out, man

i've been waking up a lot in the middle of the nite and struggling to get back to sleep, then waking up earlier than i had hoped

but within a week or so, your sleep schedule should be back to normal

it sucks balls. we usually go to bed around 10, lately we havent been able to fall asleep till about 12-1, and we wake up every few hours. restless. i know there are things out there that work such as skullcap and lotus, im just trying to find which has had more success.

Well, it's not herbal, but it's my understanding that smoking pot increases the level of melatonin in your brain, and the last time I quit smoking it's the only thing that'd let me sleep 8 hours without side effects or making me all groggy in the morning. I take 1.5mg to go to sleep. And it gives me some CRAZY dreams. I took it for a week then tapered the dose over 3 days (this may not be neccessary) and by then I was over the lack-o-weed insomnia.
You can find melatonin tablets in almost any pharmacy, grocery store, or health food store.

There's always Diphenhydramine too, or Benadryl as it's more commonly known. Easy to get, cheap and it works.

Sex is always good.. wears you out etc.

If you have your mind set on something herbal then try toking on some Nepeta cataria, commonly known as Catnip..

Eat more carbohydrates  (Just kidding).

Go to the tea department in your local store and look for the "Sleepy Time" tea with the bears on it.  Don't know what's in it but it sure helped me get to sleep when I stopped smoking.

This is what I've done in the past and it worked absolute wonders. I've never felt so relaxed. I went to a health food store and bought powdered Valerian Root you can usually find it alongside bulk spices/dried herbs. I use two tablespoons and make a tea with that, usually it's enough to induce sleep on it's own. Other times if I'm feeling extra antsy I will purchase from the same store Kava Kava gel caps that are full spectrum standardized to 75 mg of lactones per pill. The recommended daily dose from this brand is 225mg or 3 pills over the course of the day, disregard this take anywhere from 6-10 at once. You will feel the effects. This combination, or either used alone is a safe alternative to sleeping pills, benzos, barbs and completely non-addictive, no hang over, no mental clouding, etc..

a blend of chammomile and mint teas might help a little.
some aromatherapy stuff might help, not certain of any for sure, but lavender rings a bell.
