Drug dogs are not trained to smell mushrooms as the others have mentioned. I do not even seal them in plastic when I send them, just a cardboard box with tissue paper.
Do not use a fake return address! The post office knows all the addresses and if you list one that does not exist your package gets flagged.
Use a box purchased from the post office. Either a "Ready Post" first class box or a priority mail box. These are the most common packages and draw the least attention. First class and priority mail cannot be opened without a warrant. Line the inside of the box with paper and fill all the space so the shrooms are not shaking around in there. Print the address and zip code neatly so the machine can read it. You don't want the package to get routed to the hand sort pile. Seal your package neatly with clear packing tape purchased from the post office. Be sure to tape the corners but don't over do it. You want to make sure the package does not pop open if it gets dropped and kicked around, but it does not need to be air tight.
I always include a type written note on the inside of the package that says "Not for human or animal consumption. Biological specimens for Laboratory use only." This step is unnecessary unless sending out of the country, but I do it anyway because it makes me feel better.
Take the package to the post office counter and hand it to the clerk. He will ask you some questions. Be sure to answer all of them truthfully. He will ask you if there is anything fragile in the box; tell him no. He will ask if there is anything perishable in the box; tell him no. He will ask you if you want delivery confirmation; tell him yes. I recommend not buying insurance.
That's it! Your package will arrive in a few days, and as long as you are sending to a trust worthy person with a legitimate street address you will have no worries.
