If spore syringes were subjected to a temp of 110F in shipping, would it damage them to the extent that the active Psilocybe wouldn?t be very strong when the mycelium growth began. I am trying to figure out why the potency of my mushrooms seem so low.

No haven't tripped in quite a while, sorry to say. They were not exposed directly to light. But this being my first attemp at making my own experience, I am very concerned. What about substrate being exposed to the heat, the mycelium growth seemed to do great. I had also inoculated some substrate jars of my own that weren't exposed to heat and they seem to be doing even better. I am worry that all is lost, or at least the spores I purchased. Thanks to all for trying to help me hash this out.

If your spores are ready developed into mushies your fine. Spores die at 106F genreally, but if yours made it then your lucky!  .......

I am trying to figure out why the z-strain & NJ6 spores I bought from the spore trading post didn't do anything remotely close to a trip. Anybody had better luck with these strains from STP. I used 1/2 pint jars which were cold shocked and cut into halves and set 1/4 inch into wet perlite.My humidity remained 98% with the temp 74-79F. I used a fish bubbler pump with air stones in spring water which looped the growing chambers and had filter disks for clean air intake. Had a small battle with mold which I was able to trim off and clean with 1 to 20 spray of peroxide and full strength applied with q-tips to the worst areas. Could the peroxide be the problem, the shrooms grew without any problems?

First, how much did you eat? Try starting with 2 dry (or 20 wet) grams. If that doesn't do the trick, up the dosage by 1 gram (10 grams wet.) You should feel something before you hit the 5 gram level (50 grams wet.)

I started with 3 grams wet because according to STP it is their most potent strain. I waited for 2 1/2 hours with no effects and then ate another 20 grams which gave me a teaser but no where near any kind of expected experience. I have eaten 1 gram of some Mexi-Cub dried and didn't have to look for mr. trip, he found me.

Well hell, it sounds like they're just weak specimens. Up the dosage to 30 grams wet and I'm sure you'll have a better time.

and dude im seriously feel sorry you bought spores from that peice of shit how much did ya pay next time got www.thelittleguy.com from what ive heard all over this board he is a great guy and ultra fast shipping also

I have always been a firm believer in that you get what you pay for.....from what I can tell the spores I bought from STP were the exception to the rule......Over $100 for the both........OUCH!

Yes, you get what you pay for, but when everyone else sells something for ~$10, don't you think it's odd that someone else is selling it for ~$100? It's called a rip-off. Sorry you had to experience that.
