Yea I have Explosions in the Sky. They are a very ambient rock band though. They are great.

Isn't EitS a post-rock band? That would be a whole different line of sound.

Probably, but that is still a rock band by definition. It is just a subgenre.

A square is always a rectangle, but a rectangle is not always a square.

EITS have essentially no electronic base.

Explosions are really intense and emotional, as where BoC are trippy and great.

I just listened to a couple Boards of Canada songs and yeah EitS is a little less ambient but they're definitely similar.
