I've given it a few listens already and I think it's pretty damn good. This album is definitely more suited for a live performance, but it's still enjoyable at home or in the car. It's better than Ufabulum, which is nice.

Sure, he touches on the Brostep sound in a couple songs, but he takes it to a whole new level I have NEVER heard in a brostep song. This album basically answered my question of what it would sound like to hear Squarepusher (or any major IDM name) to touch on brostep, in a IDM manner.

Baltang Ort is probably my favorite track... The progression all the way up the the end is just insane.

I can understand that. He definitely goes against the grain in his live performances. It's really performances based, rather than mixing or anything, so there's short breaks between songs unlike a dj set which just keeps rolling through tracks.

Lately, with his new live set-up, he's been doing LIVE REMIXES of his songs, on the spot. Pretty fucking nuts. I don't even understand his new set up, honestly.

Fuck, WARP made the Squarepusher show private... It was available for a few hours after the performance . Hopefully it comes back. The encore really topped everything off..

This video shows off the new style of visuals he's using. He has many of other styles in visuals through out his new set, but you get the idea for how spastic the visuals are.

the track in OP is nice, i gets better after it gets past that Bro sound, which is just... LOLs worthy but he pulls it off. then it gets immediately awesome.

this album is taking the Complextro sound so far, i mean, with Ufabulum it was already centered enough on that, but it had at least that old school fit of an IDM album. but then again, the same Squarepusher elation can be heard in both. so far, i'm fucking glad he isn't doing anymore of that silly pop stuff. cause it's still fuckin' bad ass.

PS: it sounds like Ufabulum but with more ins-and-outs; i still think i'm gonna like Ufabulum better, we'll see i guess.

because it's not your traditional EDM. it's meant to be like an album thing, less than a set thing; or least, when it is, i like it more anyway... and alot of his albums capture the essence of the flow of like a progressive sound on an album, as opposed to a streamlined sound ala Richie Hawtin or something.

 All about progression. "Kwang Bass" on the new album is a perfect example... Such a mental concept for a song structure. More than half the song is one giant progression, leading into fucking mental, bass loaded, squarepusher madness.

ALSO.. For this new record, Squarepusher created the DAW (ex: pro tools, ableton, logic pro, etc), created all the instruments, and did all the songs in one take, no edits. There's some interviews about his new set-up, and it's pretty much IDM as fuck. Who the fuck writes their own DAW!?!?

I really really wish you guys could watch the video for the release show that happened the other day. It was simply amazing, and left me with goosebumps for a few hours. It was the closest I'll probably ever get to seeing Squarepusher live.

Here's a quality rip, though. Listen to the end, and you'll get to hear him jump on the bass and it's so beautiful. I was stunned by his encore, through a fucking youtube stream. Enjoy...

note - He opens with "Vacuum Garden" which is a dark, ambient piece. The set begins around 2:15 so be a little patient.

I tried but no luck for some reason. I even reloaded this page. Will keep trying. I've already seen the live show, but if it's back up on YT I'm going to download it with the mozilla app to download videos. WARP had it up for like a day and I didn't download it then like a idiot, and now the original video is "set to private".

Yeah I can't even fathom it. Compared to me, the dude really is a genius.

Here's a recent interview that gets to the point on his gear and live set up:

extra side note: apparently he wrote/created the visuals for the Ufabulum tour. :themoreyouknow:

Sweet! It works now

That's just the last 2 songs, before his encore. Still a great video with all those edits of the streets, crowd and the TV visuals.

Seriously, listen to the mixcloud link I put up, and you'll get his whole set. It's really good if you enjoyed that video.

i think squarepusher is the best musician ever.

This new album is pretty alright compared to some of his most recent works.

I like Ufabulum, but just not near as much of some of his others. There's some really great stuff on that album.

To me, Ufabulum sounds like it could have been the score for a R rated version of that recent TRON movie. It's dark, but has that future-retro sound. Ufabulum is a limited, and tame Squarepusher, which is cool for showing his ability to adapt to a certain type of minimalism.

For example, his drum kit doesn't change very much in Ufabulum, if at all. It's more about the composition. But in other albums, even in the new Damogen Furies, he'll bounce around different sounding drum kits and instruments all over the place.
