Brugmansia?? (PICS)

Some spanish neighbors of mine have this very beautiful flower bed that covers most their front yard. The other day I noticed some trumpet flowers dangling from a bush that looked very similar to pics of Brugmansia I've seen. The bush is about 12 feet in hieght. Anyone know if this is indeed Brugmansia and what species it is? You can see there are two varieties in these pics, one that is white at the base of the trumpet and fades to a light pink, and the other is just pure white. There is also another variety that grows in a nearby neighborhood that has pure yellow flowers but grows on a shorter 3-4 foot bush. I'll try to get pics of it tommarow or later today.

Those look exactly like the brug plants that I found. Up in Gainesville I saw one bush that had to be about 10 feet wide and about 6 feet tall... white trumpets everywhere.

Are Brugs native to Georgia?

yes, Brugmansias!!! beautiful frontyard your neighbors have!!! i'm not sure but i think they are b. aurea and/or b. sualevolens. i have 2 of the white ones but they've never flowered yet... really easy to grow.

Yes my good friend has the yellow version in the front yard actually. They smell wonderful.

Its funny because about 2 months ago, someone mentioned that you could eat them and trip. I disagreed with them for a while saying that they were not psychoactive...only to my knowlage, I thought they were not.

Anyways the dude ate some the next day and got kinda sick, but, apparently he said he got extremely fucked up. I guess I'll do some reasearch but wouldl ike to know any personal experiences from this flower if indeed it is really psychoactive!??!?
