Sleeping with my brugmansia tree - Experiment

Ok, so two days ago i moved a rather large brugmansia tree into my room, right beside my bed, it takes up quite a lot of space...

I read that sleeping beside a brugmansia tree will induce nightmares so i thought it would be a good time to put that to the test.

The first night, i didnt really remember any of my dreams, so that was a wash. The second night (last night) i had horrible vivid nightmares, when i woke up, i actually thought about moving the plant to a different room, becuase i didnt want to have another night like that.

So, the experiment continues..

Night one: Don't remember
Night Two: Vivid nightmares (desease killing dog/familly, mom being killed in the dish washer)
EDIT: Night Three: Can't remember

p.s. i rarely have nigtmares, i can't remember the last time a had one before last night.

Maybe this plant is just pure evil...haha.

you know, suggestion works pretty good on dreams... if you go to bed thinking of nightmares you have a GOOD chance of dreaming nightmares :shrug:

Try suggesting an exact time (down to the minute) before you go to bed for your subconscious to wake you up at in the morning. Focus on the time and truly believe you'll wake up at that time. You'll be surprised after a little work, how powerful your subconscious when directed (or suggested to) consciously.

I believe people have nightmares from these plants, simply because people fear them so much.

that is probably pyscosomatic. you were already thinking about it giving you the dreams. try moving it into an unsuspecting persons bedroom and see what happens. brumansia is very powerful, no doubt about that. not really an evil plant but definately not to be used by regular folks. it does make a nice ornamental though.

there is nothing evil about plants, evil is a man made word and has nothing to do with any botanical,. and yes if a brug gives you nightmares its because you want it to give you nightmares, in other words psycosomatic like allready mentioned.

My internal clock is so dead on that it is creepy. I can set my alarm to wake me up one day, and then wake up at that EXACT same time everday for a week at the most so far.

OK, so you may all find this next piece of information interesting then. I have alwyas had a good bond with this brug. tree, i smoked pot beside it, and hang out with it while on mushrooms, it's always brought possitive thoughts. So i thought that bringing it into my room would be a good thing, i thought it would give me wicked dreams. I only really decided to do this test after the first two nights and reading about how it is known to induce nightmares..

the thing that never fails to give me awesome dreams is...
Salvia Divinorum
I can take a few little tokes and have intense dreams for 2 weeks after.
I have been trying Silene Capansis root also the past 2 days and I think it is working. Both nights so far I have had long dreams that were vivid. I didnt go to bed say "I am going to have dreams" I just chewed the root in the morning and forgot all about it. Till the next day.

well i know just being around datura stramonium can casue blured vision and ictching and slight thought change. i transported a couple big ass plants in my car and it was an interesting experiance alot like a hot boxed car from hell with out anything burning

If slept on a Brugmansia with flowers, you will have mild atropine experience. You get from your nose the pollen of the flowers.

There are many chinese paintings with buddhist monks meditating under a brugmansia tree.

Now, if your brugmansia didn't had flowers, then it was placebo. But if you did have flowers then you should continue your experiments.

I have a brugmansia also but it's too big to bring inside. I recently had to move it to my parents' house because I discovered that the flowers were being pilfered by neighborhood wipper snappers.

I hope they all lose their shit, stealin' little varmints.

Not really, that's why I moved it. I don't want my plant causing some dumb ass kid to end up in the hospital who is then going to tell some officer where he got it and then I'm going to come home from work one day and find a bunch of cops hauling away my peyotes and peruvians. Incidentally, I have a belladonna plant in the kitchen that scares the hell out of my dogs. :shrug:

It could be placebeo even with the flowers. Placebo is very powerful.

If the anecdote in PIHKAL is a real-life account, then Shulgin was once rendered unconscious by a bit of sugar in the bottom of a glass of orange juice, because he thought it was a tranquilizer.

If placebo can incapacitate someone, it could also lead to an altered state.
