I even made a fair effort to try and enjoy them. some dude at my work kept bugging me to listen to them when I had preconceived bad notions towards the group. he gave me 10,000 days or whatever, I listened, and I didnt like
simple as that
but to each his own and I know I have a lot of shit on my itunes that a lot of you wouldn't like

lol no not at all. i don't view music like that. i enjoy zep and tool all the same and they do different things for me. i don't like the sound that sabbath brings, it's boring to me. but i don't attack the bands originality or artistic merit because i don't like the sound.

music is music man. i am sorry you miss that fact. they sell out 20,000 fans a night because they make music people enjoy.


Every band makes music people enjoy that has nothing to do with the number of tickets they sell, promotion of the band attention from MTV, radio etc. If it wasn't for that I really doubt Tool would be so popular. I haven't heard Tool in over 10 years so I don't really know if I like them or not.

Anyway, I love tool. I can't get enough. It's been this way for many many years, 8 or 9 maybe. I've seen em a half a dozen times. the 2002 tour was the best you will ever see. There's some youtube videos of them during that tour. This tour all the shows have the same setlist. I just wish they would play third eye at one of the shows. i saw em last may and it was nearly as good as the 2002 show. great stuff!!! Alex grey and tool go together like PB and J!

Tool is mainstream ? just because tool is a modern rock band and not classic does not make it mainstream. Mainstream in my opinion are bands which suck money out of peoples pockets and put out way too many albums or sign clothing sponsorships because they feel they have not enough money or have not reached 100% audience saturation.

No. Sabbath put out a lot of shitty albums after Ozzy left. Tool has yet to put a shitty album.
