i don't feel it is as ridiculous as i do accurate. it leaves nothing to interpretation. "i like music that sounds cool" means a million different things.

well, i've already recommended several bands, but i'm going to reiterate a few of my favs:

Pavement - any album
Neutral Milk Hotel (EVERYBODY loves the album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. it's magical)
Beirut - Gulag Orkestar for sure... i haven't had much of a chance to listen to the newest album, unfortunately
Arcade Fire - i prefer funeral to neon bible, but they're both great
Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle
The Kinks - album We Are The Village Green Preservation Society
T-Rex
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - self-titled album.
Spoon - Gimme Fiction or Kill the Moonlight
TV on the Radio - desperate youth, bloodthirsty babe

so there. until you've listened to something from all those albums, i don't want to hear any more complaining.

pavement was a band that really, really grew on me. at first, i felt "meh" about them. like, yeah, they're good, but not spectacular. but the more i listened to them, the more i got involved in the songs. i am in love with their little mini jamout sessions in each song and the expert use of distortion.

oh, i like that one. the sound kinda takes a little getting used to. it's very full, and at first listen can seem a bit harsh. but it's great, great stuff. rough around the edges, certainly, but in an endearing way.

From Autumn to ashes got old 6 years ago I first saw them in 2000 at some little church with not even 200 people, they were good then. It was funny one of the bands was drinking beer in the Church and some fights, the pastor found out and got pissed.
