interesting...
you're able to put a price to how much you want to pay for the digital download and the box set...
i thought what a brilliant idea - radiohead's standing up to the record companies!
i ended up purchasing the digital download for 15 quid cause i thought it was pretty nice of them to show respect and trust towards their fans...

They probably put you on some asshole list if you get it for free. Stick to bit torrent if you want it for free.

I grabbed it for free... I'll shell out cash for the whole package when it comes out too though. This way I can just hear it as soon as possible without having to take a trip to the record store.

What would they add to the list? they just ask for your email address and a (fake) home address. That would be the dumbest thing to do if they want to sell tickets and albums.
It's a great marketing idea. They know the digital download is worthless because of piracy, so this way they actually make some money from all those people that complain they are only downloading it because they want to hear it first. Plus they get a few million email accounts to spam. Plus, the people that get it for free might like it and be more inclined to buy the box when it comes out which will be packed full of extras, the one thing that can't be pirated on the net. Plus the people that got it for free might get a guilt trip and go buy the album when it comes out if its good.
Add in all the free publicity, the perceived street cred, all the good will generated by fans and the fact that you and i are talking about it and that all this marketing costs $0, its just about the smartest and best way to make money.
This is the way all record companies will be selling their music in the future. - Free/Variable digital download and a big box of cool extras on the expensive physical version.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day.
