So for the past 2-3 years I've been heavily into photography. I love shooting photos and seeing the results after developing the film myself. For the past few weeks, maybe even months because I don't know when it started, I've been in this creative block of sorts. I just can't seem to take photos I like anymore. It seems as if I've taken a few steps back, instead of forward, in my progress to becoming a better photographer.
Does anyone who has gone through a similar "creative crisis" have any tips on how I can get out of it?

I'm no photographer, but I've had periods where I couldn't draw shit for shit. I've found that if I just take a break from it for awhile, usually for a few months, I improve a lot after shaking the rust off and getting used to it again. It's as if your creative juices need some time to replinish. This has worked for my music, as well.
This may not apply to you, as I'm not sure how often you photograph, but it's something to consider if all else fails. G'luck.

You could try looking at less photographs by other people. I find when I listen to a lot of music, I feel as though I am just copying what I am hearing and not really being original.

Creative blocks will help you understand the relationship between art and reality (your life). What is artistic quality, and how does it relate to creative impulse? My advice would be to explore these connections. Its really quite interesting, and youll probably never find a definite answer.
Good luck to ya

Both good points kind sirs. I often times bring my camera everywhere with me. Most of the times I don't shoot photos of anything, but I have it just incase. I also spend most of my time on the computer (which is a good amount) cruising pro photog websites and such.

Here's a link to my photos for anyone who may be interested. No extensive Photoshop done to any of them (except coloring correcting, dodge/burn, and sharpening). http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomchyshyn/
