because clean cut is aesthetically pleasing? hair trimmed up neat looks 10 times more appealing than a mane of pubic hair.

same goes with the face. sure, facial hair can be cool, but few people find full-fledged unkempt unibomber beards very attractive.

The designs like 'landing strips' and buzzed playboy bunnies should be left to women. The only reason guys should trim or 'style' their pubes is to prevent hairballs for the lady.  I also think that it's quite alright for a lady to go all natural.
