I think this should be in the hunting forum but...
In reply to: Where do they grow? Dung? Forests?
They grow in well manured grassy areas though the grass dosent have to be all that tall and the area doesn't have to be occupied by cattle. They don't grow in dung.
In reply to: They're supposed to be more potent than cubensis so what would be a threshold dose?
Yes they're much more potent the cubensis, I don't know what would be considered threshold but I've eaten one fresh and felt a mild body buzz. A good starting dose would be 20-30 shrooms.
In reply to: Any special preperation reccomendations? Just eat them? Tea?
Most libs I've found are inhabited...yes maggots, they seem to like sitting in between the gills. If you don't mind these just eat the shrooms fresh otherwise soaking the shrooms in water will get rid of them or you can get a fan facing the gills to get the maggots out. Tea can bring on a very intense trip be careful, sip don't chug (unless of course you want that kind of intensity!)
In reply to: Any similar species that could possibly harm me if I picked the wrong ones?
Think mj's safe-pik guide covers this one.
In reply to: How would I preserve them? The same way you do with cubes?
In reply to: Any good picking guides specifically aimed at this species on the net?
Not to my knowledge but mabye. Check this link for a good book. As this is a british book the laws that Cooper describe may not apply in your country.
Hope this helps, happy hunting
