trip sickness, a problem caused by way mushroom cultivated?

on monday i ate a 29 wet gram golden teacher with a closed veil that was grown from a quart of cased rye berries into coir. the trip was great until the nauseau started up.. since then i have been shitting liquid and my stomach has been in knots.. after about 4 hours of tripping i thru up my dinner and the mushroom. i continued to throw up every half an hour for 2.5 more hours until i knocked myself out with catepress. im wondering if stomach nauseau that occurs after eating booms is a result of how the mushroom was cultivated. the casing was and is not contamed, there are no visible signs (looks very healthy, still thriving) this puzzled me. sometimes mushrooms make me sick when i eat them and sometimes they dont.. my last 4 trips i have prepared myself the same way every time.. like my diet, my sleep, my environment, my mood.. 2 out of the 4 times i got sick.. never have i ate a mushroom from anything contamed.. so i got to thinking. maybe since cubes are like 90% water, the mushroom sucked up some of the peroxide from the humidity and caused my nauseau.. im just trying to figure out what causes the discomfort and if theres any method by which to grow cubes to reduce the chances of trip sickness occuring..
anybody have any input?
thanks

hydrogen peroxide is a fairly unstable molecule...it turns into plain ol' water eventually... h2o2 - o = h2o...i'm thinkin the nausea just a side effect from overstimulation of your temporal lobe due to the reaction of your thalmus to psilocybin or the increased levels of serotonin in your brain or vertigo caused by your altered perception... and to think i'm still a n00b

when you trip on mushrooms a side effect is throwing up.. its very common I find.. it depends on how strong your stomach is.. if you notice everyone that takes them during a certain time of the trip.. usually when its building up.. first 30 minutes you have stomach pains.. during your trip your stomach is always kinda off.. so it really depends on the person and how much your stomach can take..

Trip Tips me thinks. I am going to answer here anyway of course. :P The only part that worries me about your story is the liquid shits part. Is this an ongoing thing, like days? If not, then it sounds normal to me. Look around in TT for more info. I used to get sick on them all the time. Now I grind them up and throw them in some orange juice. I have not gotten sick since I started doing that. Your mileage may vary though.

well, i am a biology student and nothing that happens in the brain stem does shit to ur temporal lobe.. i had no problem with balance and my "altered perception" is the only part i enjoyed about the trip and not really a factor to it seems had to do with my nauseau. so far nonody has answered my question and i dont think anyone in trip tips forum would care to answer a question about cultivation..
again my question was is there anything i can do in the cultivation of the mushroom to prevent trip sickness when the product is consumed.. if anybody knows anything about that please id like to know..

I have never seen anything like that at all. I think the best bet is to find out what you can do to help the problem some other way.

im worried that taking in h2O2 might be hazerdous. i mean consuming bleach must not be a good thing, and if the mushroom was covered in an h2o2 mist when i eat it, regardless of how clean the bottom of the stem is, it could cause nauseau ...

I've never gotten physically sick to the point of puking after ingesting shrooms or during the trip but one time i took them then woke up the next morning and puked my guts out like 4 times then i had to get in a car and talk to my gfs mom while i was trying to hold down my puke, I had my backpack on my lap with the zipper open waiting to empty my stomach into it. It was aweful, and then i puked like 3 more times after barely holding it down in the car, it's never happened since but i still can't explain it.

http://www.h2o2.com/intro/overview.html Quote:
Safe - Despite its power, H2O2 is a natural metabolite of many organisms, which decompose the H2O2 they produce into oxygen and water. H2O2 is also formed by the action of sunlight on water -- a natural purification system for our environment. Consequently, H2O2 has none of the problems of gaseous release or chemical residues that are associated with other chemical oxidants. And since H2O2 is totally miscible with water, the issue of safety is one of concentration. Industrial strength H2O2 is a strong oxidizer and as such requires special handling precautions.

I've swallowed a bit of h202 straight from the bottle before and it didn't do shit to my stomach, although I'm sure it would have if it had been a greater quantity. As little h202 that there is in the average spraying solution, and as fast as it breaks down, there is little chance that it is causing the problem. You're just being paranoid.
On the other hand, like "shroomophile" said, I've always had more nausea from wet shrooms than dry ones. If your stomach is that sensitive to them, then I would definitely dry them first. Shrooms just cause more nausea for some people than others though.

again my question was is there anything i can do in the cultivation of the mushroom to prevent trip sickness when the product is consumed.. if anybody knows anything about that please id like to know..
yes, grow pan. cyans. instead of cubes., they contain more psilocybin and psilocin, and less other toxins . and they don't upset your tummy .

If your worried about nausea with shrooms, try making tea...or tincture...so take your tincture and chase it with a tincture of cannabis indica, and you should have no worries about nausea, i have never tried this but i would imagine it would work amazingly well.

These shrooms should not be taken lightly, they are a sacred sacrament. Before you trip do as the natives do, prepare yourself, mentally, physically and spiritually.
I would say nausea is in most cases caused by people having consumed food before they trip, which is a big no no. In future before you trip, make sure you fast for at least 6 hours and better still 24hrs...also abstaining from sex for 24hrs.
When you eat your stomach becomes a chemistry set,and adding certain chemicals could potencially 'create' other chemicals some of which are not good, especially considering the amount of preservatives, artificial coloring agents and other synthetic chemicals in food today. Best to have a feast laid out for when you come down. Cause when you eat before you trip, I think the shroom gods are insulted and we don't want that do we.

OK, I agree with shroomophile, especially if the above stated theory that it is leftover stuff in the 90% water of the shrooms: Dry them and you have less of a chance of getting that stuff. I recently had my first dried shroom...I've always gotten them fresh before then...but never had sickness. I think maybe moving around too much may cause more sickness..it sometimes makes me feel nauseated, but when I sit down, it goes away.

Drinking H2O2 would be bad for you. There's no H2O2 in the shrooms, though -- it's (practically) instantly metabolized away.

It's not his fault that you don't have a background in either chemistry or biology...

well I have a BS in biology and in chemistry ....I will try to give the benefit of my overpriced education here....although I am a newbie to growing shrooms and I have only done them a few times.... h2o2 hydrogen peroxide which seems harmless cause it is just another O2 molecule added to water....but that is what makes it caustic.....that is why it works on cuts it is killing the infection but it also kills good tissue also.... with that said....I have to lean toward what was stated earlier about the amount that you consumed and that it is really not enough to make someone sick....unless u have a really weak stomach.... I always smoke a joint right after injesting the shrooms....1 gives us something to do while wwe are waiting for the journey......2 gets that nasty taste out of my mouth......3 calms down the stomach....(works great for AIDS patients)....... hope this helps.....I love reading all this info.....great to be here

anxiety, worrisome, panic: these can all cause you to barf. It happens, read the "Physical Effects of Mushrooms" in the mushroom info section. Set, setting, etc. Also, try eating only lightly before the trip. 29g? did you eat it all at once??? try eating slowly next time, especially wet grams. Eat till you can feel the effects then decide whether you down some more. Fresh mushies will almost always make me yak. Dry them and make tea or grind and cap.
