Wow...Very interesting situation. (With a new even stranger update!) (& now with the grand finale!)

So I have a little brother. (6 years old) Naturally, I've got the chance to meet some of his friends parents.  Most of them seem like fucking nut cases...  But anyway, there was this one family with twins who always seemed like pretty decent people and their kids probably the most manageable to have over at the house.

This family plans on departing for a getaway trip to Mexico.  Out of no where, they ask if I will move into their house for a couple weeks to watch the place.  Other then being surprised from them asking me, I was more then happy to get a house to myself for a couple weeks.  They had a range of animals that needed to be taken care off, some gardening duties, ect. It was a damn fine deal. 

So I had a great time watching the place.  I brought over all my instruments, computer, and recording gear.  Along with the other stuff, I brought over my pot/mushies.  I store them in this really old wooden box.  I didn't have any parties or anything.  I had a couple friends over for a friendly bowl and jam session; That was as crazy as it got. 

I had to leave town for a couple days, so a neighbor had to come over and watch the place.  This meant I had to hide my 'wooden box'.  I just stuck it under the bed in the parents room.  After coming back, spending a few more days in the house, I began to pack my stuff for home.  I cleaned the house up and down, making sure I didn't forget anything. 

I welcomed the family back home and talked with them about the trip.  Spending the time in their house made me realize how decent these people where.  The guy was really fun to talk with, they had a pinball machine, family pets... had the whole god damn American dream going for them.  Very cool people. 

They got me a gas card and tell me to stop by the house to pick it up a later.  I keep putting it off until I kind of forgot about it.  I talked with the guy about 15 days after-words and tell him I'll pick it up soon.  fast-forward a month, the husband drops by my work. (I work right by their house)

I greet him and we talk about the animals and how much they appreciated me staying.  I tell them I would be happy to do it again.  He hooks up the gas card and we talk a  bit more.  I finally sense the conversation ending but it didn't, I could tell he wanted to get a last note in.

He then tells me that they found 'my box' under their bed.  Oh shit! I say "Good box or bad box?" I honestly COMPLETELY forgot about that fucking box.  It somehow didn't cross my mind over this whole month and a half away from it.  So I ask what was in it and he said (in a quiet whisper) "pot". 

Ok, so my little brothers friends parents find a bunch of pot under their bed. Fuck.  I didn't really know how to react.  He was sort of smiling as he said this.  Not really in an amused way...but more in a 'not a big' deal way.  I  felt really embarrassed and apologized to him.  He  said that him and his wife were cool with it and that they would love for me to watch the house next time they go out of town.  Before he left, he told me to come drop by the house to pick up the box whenever I wanted. 


Jesus Christ. I honestly feel terrible about being so careless.  I'm am, however, very thankful that they are an understanding bunch and didn't blow up the spot.  Its going to be an interesting trip picking my 'box' back up.  :tongue:

Well, I have no suggestion for how you should pick it back up, other than just going over there and getting it when the dad is around, he seems cool. The mom might be a bit more testy.

The dad sounded like he reacted the same way I picture myself reacting if i was him.

Next time you speak with the father, you should totally ask if he's smoked before. If he does, offer to smoke him up. A smoking session between you two could bud into a nice friendship, with lots of benefits to either side. I have a friendship that's pretty similiar to this, but he doesn't have a kid. He's an older guy, maybe 'bout 35 or so (I'm 21). We met at work after getting on the topic of drugs and making it apparent that we both smoked. Now both of us, along with his wife chief up regularely, and work on music together occasionally.

Yeah, I gotta admit. That's a pretty legendary example of 'stoners forget shit'. lol.

The most I've done in that regard is forget to take my pipe out of my pocket on several occasions. Needless to say, my mom knows I smoke. Thankfully, she doesn't care.
