My first venture into edibles...

I'm going to start with a couple of oyster varieties (fast colonization times, easy to cultivate, etc.).

I'd like to then try portobellas...any recommendations on where to get a good solid culture that can make it to me in Canada? Fungi Perfecti want USD$99.00 for a culture, but do offer free replacement up to a year after purchase. I'm also considering Mushroom People's cultures. Comments? Suggestions?

Don't waste your money on a $100US culture!

pm me and I'll direct you to a professional company that offers live cultures of any strain, on a plate or in a culture tube for only $15CAN plus shipping and taxes. This is a real company. They even provide workshops on specialty mushrooms such as Shiitake, Oysters, Reishi, Maitake, etc.

Anybody that wants anything to do with edible mushrooms should check out this place and others like it. These internet places are just a ripoff.
