I have some edible cultures, what is the best way to cultivate these?

I'm not entirely certain, they were given to me by someone I lost contact with. They're labelled: DJA, CITR, and GL.

I believe one of them is Ganoderma lucidum.

So i would say
DJA = Pleurotus djamor
CITR = Pleurotus citrinopileatus
GL = Ganoderma lucidum
But im unsure of this as it could i suppose be anything.Try posting in the edible forum for specifics of growth alsodoyou have "the mushroom cultivator" or the "GGMM" as you could do with one of them.Or just try a google search on the speices and cultivation.
Edible cultivation web site
this link aint bad for a starting point.
Good luck

Are they grown in the same manner as P. Cubes? And how do I start if starting with a culture?

I think they need woody substrates in order to grow...
Like sawdust for example.

:grin: LOL. That was me. I have flu and wasn't checking the net for 2 days.

They're Pleurotus djamor, Pleurotus citrinopileatis & Ganoderma lucidum. Do a search on this forum. All of them were cultivated around here.
Good luck!

With all 3 species you first have to inoculate grain jars.
Look here for more info: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/3264

The grain spawn is then used to inoculate the final substrate which is usually pasteurized straw for oysters and sawdust for reishi.

Look here: Growing oyster mushrooms on straw

Using the bag technique, do I just place the cultures in a bag with the substrate, put slits in the sides of the bag and hang it?

Have a look under agar in the faq.It has some good pictures of how to do and agar transphere.But basicaly you cut small sectionns from the agar plate put these into either sawdust spawn or grain spawn then once coloanised you
miix this into a bulk substrate like straw or more saw dust with bran mixed in.
There are many ways to do oysters and a google search will show you many of them from using a toilet roll to using a whole straw bale.
