Yeah I think the odds of him getting busted doing this are pretty good. I don't know how it is there but around here the cops patrol around (cruise right through the parking lot) Wal-Mart all throughout the night.

I think if you steal anything that cost more than $500 its grand theft,which is a felony.Ive never really seen any $500 bicycles at walmart.Just don't get caught.

I don't think walmart would stop ordering from a particular supplier because one of their bikes got stolen as opposed to another brand bike.

walmart has already paid for and taken ownership of the merchandise upon arrival - once its in the doors it's WalMart inventory and therefore not a threat to the supplier (as to if it gets stolen).

so steal whatever is easiest!

i personally would go to an upper-middle-class neighborhood and steal one off the lawn of some house that has shit all over the yard, who cleary does not take care of their shit - especially if its like a teenagers bike that way you know their parents will just buy them a new/better one.

Wal-Mart does have a lot of cameras watching the parking lots. I think you were talking about getting one of the ones they chain up outside right? That would be safer than getting one from inside the store. As for morals...fuck morals. Its Wal-Mart!!! Stick it to the man!!!

Sort of...

Walmart would have a buy back agreement for larger ticket items like bicycles.

What this means is that the supplier isn't paid essentially until the item is sold.

For stolen items Wal Mart and the Supplier both eat the cost.

I should clarify a buyback:

its when if your product stays on the shelf/lot for x months the supplier agrees to buy it back at lets say 98% of cost

Don't do that. Stealing from a huge company is bad enough, but stealing an individual's bike is a really nasty thing to do.

here's the flaw with your plan:

while you would be able to chain that shit up outside and come back later dressed in black (so the cameras cant identify you)

all they'd have to do is look at the tape from that day - see who fucking walked a bike into the garden center and whammy - you're arrested!

works every time, granted sometimes you end up walking around looking for 3-4 hours but hell you get to bike back, just roll some weed talk a walk at 1 am dude your bound to find a un-locked bike sooner or later

Just make sure its not a walmart you frequent.

I got reminded today by some asshole that works at tescos that I'm banned, after I got 'caught' by this shelf stacking piece of shit putting a chocolate bar in my pocket (I was really high). He then literally ran to his manager to tell him (this was about 3-4 months ago):shrug:

Earlier today I saw that prick in this mall quite a distance away from tescos.. however, that prick ditched his friends to follow me to tescos (where I was legitimately purchasing some apple juice - I gave up shoplifting) just as I was queing up to pay for it he took it out of my hands and told me that I was banned.. He wasn't even working.. he was casually dressed :shrug:

I mean what the fuck; If he was a manger or something.. then I'd understand his motives, but this prick purposely went out of his way just to inconvenience me (I had to walk an extra 2 mins to other local supermarket). I imagine this same goon is one of those red blooded, alcohol drinking, hippie bashing, homophobic, racist pieces of shit as well.

It just pissed me off to what degree this knob cheese went out of his way to attempt and annoy me.. As I was walking out I did manage to call him a prick and give him the finger, and then continued to the other super market, to buy some tasty apply juice for exactly the same price (competition ftw).

Moral of the story; I always thought shelf stackers were too apathetic to give a shit about their job.. but some of them are goons.. When I used to steal shit I only really avoided surveillance and security guards.. as most shelf stackers are people of my own age (who happen to be failures at life), but every now and then.. you come across a complete and utter prick.

Curveball!  Wal-Mart doesn't close...  and neither do the cameras.  This entire plan is a bust waiting to happen.  Quite honestly, borrow from a friend or do without... lawnjacking is for fuckheads.  I had two bikes stolen from me earlier in life and I was certainly not pleased.

someone stole my bike... i was moving into this house and my bike came in the last haul from my old apt... so i just leaned it against our fence to the back yard... next morning it was gone. which is funny cuz whoever stole it didn't get far since it had two flat tires... meh it was probably pawned for meth money anyway
